Heat factor....TiBook 667 DVI...

This awesome saver sure does like to make my TiBook 667 DVI get hot and turn on the fan all day...that cannot be good exposure daily for a computer. What can be done about that?

I've raised this topic on the PC forum and all I get are incredulous stares.

The Aquarium unnecessarily runs the CPU and video card at 100% for hours on end.

Dang, that sucks bad...that is a HUGE bug and will ruin computers if you repeated on a daily basis...don't ya think?

The default is to throttle the frame rate to 30 fps. This reduces the program's demands on the CPU. If you have set the frames per second setting above that and CPU temperature is a concern, then you should try returning the fps setting to 30 fps. Another way to reduce the load is to decrease your monitor bit depth. Other than that, it takes a lot of horsepower (mostly from the video card) to animate and texture.

I have found reducing the number of fish from 8 to 5, turning off the sound and bubbles, as well as setting the frame rate to 30 keeps the fan from kicking in when running on my Ti 667-DVI. I still run in Millions of colors, though. Yeah this can really make the Ti cook, particularly in the default settings.

The Kengsington USB plug fan pointed at the Ti hot spot should keep it running very cool.
