Hello,

I would definitely play for at least 4 licenses for home, all my PCs at home are in linux, even my Gaming machine There is no such thing as SerenceScreen saver for linux so I bet there will be people willing to pay for it thru Ubuntu store.. I use Mageia Linux BTW.

Regards

MA3.3 for Linux Mint Lives ...

... and would probably work for other flavors of Linux using Crossover Linux or Wine.

Latest news. My oldest operating PC (that I'm typing on) is about to be replaced with one cloned from my user data, with a freshly installed OS. The OS is Linux Mint MATE 22.1, which I'm also running as an upgrade on this old machine.

With respect to MA3.3, I seem to have found a regression that affects the latest Crossover Linux and/or LM 22.1, and may also affect the latest Wine that is incorporated into Crossover Linux. The upgraded software wouldn't run the .scr file that normally (in Windows), lives in the System32 directory. Crossover's advice was to downgrade Crossover to an earlier version. However, I found another approach, as follows.

It turns out that screensaver .scr files are often just renamed .exe files, and that is the case with MA3.3. So renaming the .scr file to an exe file (not the be confused with the installation .exe file so name control is recommended) can be operated on by Crossover, and likely by Wine, by treating it as just another .exe file. (Don't forget Direct Music.)

Since the new PC has a paver sized video card, I expect the number of supportable fishes to be at least as many as I probably reported somewhere upstream in this thread for the HDTV PC build of nearly a decade ago.

Thanks for the info. And yes -- it's just a renamed .exe file.
