Just watched! Pretty weird to see my username in screengrabs of this site in an LGR video.

It would have been nice if he'd reached out to include an interview with Jim in this thing, but it was still a great video. He missed out linking to the cool videos on Jim's YouTube channel as well. I'll have to say something in the comments that no one will ever see.

Just watched the whole thing as well.. interesting nostalgia trip. On one of the screen grabs of this forum, even recognized my avatar.

He has a cool channel, I haven't watched a lot of it, but he's got an amazing collection of retro tech stuff and his videos on SimCity are great. Also missing from this video was noting how long you made sure it was possible to fit MA on a floppy and just how technically amazing the multi-monitor support in 3.0 was for the time.

Doc - Yeah, I just started using a 3-monitor setup in my game room. Now I wish I had made the background wider

A lot of others probably wish the same.. Seems I recall there was some wider background (sand and grass??) in previous versions... maybe dust off the cobwebs and give us a wider version.
Nice game room

Wonder how many copies they sold? Kind of goofy concept in my opinion.

Yeah, he found the DVD
I talked to him on BlueSky, told him that as he had guessed, some people back then either didn't have a high-end computer or didn't want to tie it up running a "screensaver", but they had a dvd player that wasn't doing anything. Those disks and jewel cases cost us less than a dollar to make, so we had something to sell at Walmart, etc. I don't remember how many we sold, but it wasn't a significant part of the income stream.
All of the hard-copy versions really just acted as advertising for the digital-download version.

I looked for a comment by drfish but didn't see any. Did you get around to making one?

Petition to redo the DVD version! I want to put this on a flash drive, please!

Also, render the PC version, not the Mac!

What am I thinking?

I should just do my own video/audio capture to my own taste!

Apologies for the delay in your posts being approved. It's typical that we get 5-10 posts per MONTH on this site, yet we've gotten that many this week and I missed it.

If you want a DVD of the Aquarium, I'd suggest using something like Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) to record a video and then you can pick the fish you want, set the camera how you want, and watch it anytime!

Hi! I actually posted a comment on both the original video and the blurb about the DVD but it seems they were both removed, because they don't even show up on my YouTube comment history. Oh well. Glad someone found their way here, though.

What?! I think that dude still owes me an email, or maybe it was my turn to reply. We were really bad about that. I was just looking at the crazy Swedish mix CD he sent me so long ago, wishing I had a drive installed so I could try to listen to it again (I ripped it so long ago that I don't have the mp3s anymore).

As for my comments, they did contain links, to here and to your YouTube channel, so that's probably why they vanished.

I found your comment (and Tiny's reply) gotta love how YouTube comments work when basically no one found the one from the guy the video is about.

Edit: Tiny, if you're lurking, no joke, Stacy bought me a new copy of the Günther CD for Christmas last year because my other one got lost.

Got to agree on YouTube commenting... Can't find the one I made, and it was positive.
