Well ultimately this thread would not be used for discussion of bugs, features, releases, etc. But the only way to do that would be to lock it. I guess I can find an add-on for vB so only you can post in this thread, Jim.

When you post new Beta Version can you add the Version Number (From the Settings Panel) to the description on the download post. That way I can easily tell if I need to downloaded the latest release. Especially with the Download name being the same it's hard to keep track.

Thanks for all your hard work.

Which is why Morgan and I have that thread locked. That way only he or I can post there and when there is a new release thats the place to check.

But vmjr said what he wanted was the version number from the Settings panel (e.g., T109.3.0.4411 (for beta 8b)). I don't believe I've seen that number anywhere but within the program itself.

In addition to Michael's thread, - (which clearly states each new beta letter and number)....

Each of those posts also includes details of new changes since the previous beta. To be given that Txxx.x.x.xxxx number, in addition, would IMO be meaningless to most people.

I just want to quickly make sure I have the latest Beta on my PC. The file name doesn't include "8b" so I can't tell from there, and the Settings Panel doesn't have 8b either. I don't know how much of the Version Number changes with each release, maybe you just need to post the last four digits?

Thanks

The latest version is always listed at the DL site in the other thread.

If you have any need for earlier versions for any testing I keep them available on the Beta DL site located here.

How I handle it

I rename the file with the beta release in the name when downloading it. Takes just a second and removes all question as to what release it is.

De Bobo Mon,

I do the same thing.

If ever in doubt, run the beta. In shocking yellow lettering it tells you what version you're running.

Beta 8d is at http://www.fish-byte.com/MA3Beta.zip

Changes:
Edgar has made some changes in the code surrounding the switching of monitors, hopefully getting rid of a wide range of multimonitor bugs.

I changed the fishpicker interface to limit the types of fish that can be chosen in an unregistered copy. Now only the first row of fish will be available without an MA3 Key Code. The total number of fish has not changed, but the selection is much smaller.

Sounds like good incentive...
Thanks to Morgan, Tiny Snapshots is up and running again with "Tiny Järvafält" as the latest addition – Go have a look and tell me what you think.

I remembered the line from the Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad-Gita. Vishnu is trying to persuade the Prince that he should do his duty and to impress him takes on his multi-armed form and says,
'Now, I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.'
I suppose we all thought that, one way or another.

Yeah, hopefully we'll break the 1-purchase per 1000-downloads barrier.

MA3_Beta8e - problems so far...

1, AltLogo.png not working.

2, There is no MA3Playlist.lst

3, The misalignment effect described here is still present... https://www.feldoncentral.com/forums...85&#post108785
(ie, - The smearing is no longer there! - but if the right-hand monitor is set for a smaller resolution say 1024x768, whilst the left-hand monitor is at 1280x1024, then instead of showing the whole of the right-hand half of MA3 at a lower resolution, it only shows a cropped area of it, but enlarged to cover the whole screen.)

4, When I click the 'Website' button, MA3 closes down and I get a 'Windows Script Host' box which states the meaningless error message: - 'There is no file extension in "D:\Program". [OK]'

1. I have noticed the same issues, but I did notice the L key was removed from the keylisting on the about screen.

2. I did find the playlist has been moved to the "C:\Program Files\SereneScreen\Marine Aquarium 2.6MA3Playlist.lst".

I forgot that in Beta mode, we use the MA2.6 registry settings.
Playlist and AltLogo will be in the install folder of MA2.6.

However I see a bug in putting the files together so we need to fix that.
