The Freshwater Aquarium is put on the backburner in favor of completing the 3D background for the "regular" Marine Aquarium. No demo or anything was released.

Thanks to Morgan, Tiny Snapshots is up and running again with "Tiny Järvafält" as the latest addition – Go have a look and tell me what you think.

Now we just need Jim and Alan to get together to produce a Sachs-Kapler special edition, with Alan's sand/gravel aquarium base and green tank, and Jim's treasure chest and fish textures.

(hint! )

Cool. It wasn't posted here. I've read every single post on this forum since early 2001 (and a good portion of those posted before that as well) and I haven't seen it. Is there a special "Developer's" sub-forum somewhere?

Yes, I posted a picture of how the freshwater aquarium would look. It's probably buried in one of these threads. It was just a photo of the real tank I set up to use as a model.

That would make it quite realistic, I suppose...

I saved them.

The first one is what Jim actually posted on the forum and the second two are what Morgan took when he visited Jim. I remember Morgan even said that he saw the treasure chest working.

I saw the wonderful treasure chest in operation and separately, in Lightwave 3D, Jim showed me the 3D rocks and plants he'd modeled. Everything was nothing short of astounding and would blow away the realism of Marine Aquarium and every other aquarium out there. This was in spring 2003.

Hehe,
I remembered that shot. What I hadn't seen was a computer-modeled tank, not the "inspiration".

Neither have I. Jim had built many of the components for the tank in 3D, the rocks, the plants, etc. but not put them into the Aquarium. He showed them to me in Lightwave. What I saw of the Freshwater aquarium in spring 2003 was a 3D gravel-only background but there were some pieces missing. And there was just a yellow tang swimming in the tank.

Chances are, Alan already has made it back to his forum given that he made that particular post back in April of 2006.
