So put a TV tuner in the computer... I'm sure the plasma has multiple inputs anyway... Don't get me wrong, she got a pretty sweet deal, but man... So close to perfection...

Threads about it here, here, and here. Basically, look on ebay, it's around...

Edit: ebay has one copy right now... Auction ends in less than two hours...

Remember that the DVD is not widescreen and is apparently not of the highest quality.

MadBob,
With hindsight I would say that the DVD is a nice collectors item, but it doesn't even come close to the quality you get from the screensaver (and it's only 4x3). - If you want a superb fish DVD, get The Blue Planet, you wont regret it!

While I think it would be very cool to have MA on DVD for standalone use, I'm looking forward to putting my Aquaria DVD on the big screen when my home theater project is finished.

You may want to give it a try:

HD-DVD does sound very interesting Morgan, - but I don't really want to wait! ...... Mind you, if I'm still around when it finally arrives, - then that's another story! ..... At it's best, it's pretty damn good now! - don't you think?

This gives a fair picture, (sorry 'bout the pun!), of the situation, (though a little old), - for those who are wondering!

ps, - And WHEN it comes, we only want ONE FORMAT !

HD-DVD players will be here December 2005. There is only 1 format, Sony's Blu-Ray format. I usually scratch my head when Sony comes out with their own format, but they managed to get all but 2 major manufacturers on board with Blu-Ray, so it's a done deal.

It helps that every major DVD produced in the last 5 years has also triggered the production of an HDTV master, ready to use when HD-DVD hits. Most major studios planned ahead. I wouldn't mind paying another $15-25 each for the handful of movies that would benefit most from HD transfers. Of course I don't need to buy Groundhog Day again, but Terminator 2 would be fantastic to own in HD.

The difference from DVD to HDTV can be stunning, especially with videotaped productions like sports and documentaries.
