I'm not familiar with the SiS 651 chipset. I see that it has 32MB of memory.

Based on your past posts, I am guessing that this is a new issue in MA3 7m and that you did not have this problem at all in versions up to 7i?

I've only just come about this problem because I formatted my laptop and decided to try MA3 on it.
I have tried 7j and 7m but has same problem. I do have alot of backups so I will see later if the older betas work.

Doesn't help when my laptop is running primitive graphics drivers.

Definitely need to upgrade to the latest drivers possible. I've seen ones for 2006.

That card may be a little light to run MA3.

1. How am I supposed to go back to older betas when they say "Beta has expired"?
2. These are the latest drivers.
3. I think Jim could be right.
I'll keep trying latest betas on my laptop to see if any changes help.

Set the date back on your system. Just make sure you set it forward again after testing.

Yep, probably so. Looks like MA3 is past the capabilities of that one.

That's exactly why we will continue to sell and support MA2.6.

My laptop is now 960MB (ish) and not 480MB. and I got my graphics from 32MB to 64MB.
only real problem is still the graphics. it doesn't like OpenGL too much. it only really likes the basics.

Marine Aquarium 3 is a DirectX application, not OpenGL.

I believe Jim has said (several times) that MA3 requires DirectX 9. The first entry in the MA3 - READ THIS FIRST! thread (bullet 5) says "DX8/9", and I'm pretty sure I've read elsewhere in this forum that DX9 was required.
