Crashes with Celeron 1400mhz??
I have verified this on two machines and seemed puzzled. The Serene Screen saver is working great on machines running a Pentium II processor. But when I upgraded my processor to a Celeron 1400mhz it will occasionally minimize to the taskbar even though no keyboard or mouse was touched? Once minimized the screen saver is no longer running you just see it in the task bar. Running the latest WinXP. I tried this on another machine with a Celeron 1400mhz and the same results occurred. Sometimes it may take several hours or an evening for this to occur. Why would I be getting this type of behavior? Could the smaller cache of the Celeron or possibly some SereneScreen settings be causing this? Any ideas?
I posted this behavior a few months ago but since seem to think it does have something to do with the processor speed since I never had a problem on my machine when it was running a Pentium II 450mhz processor. |

It is more likely something is taking the focus out away from the screensaver. An alert of some kind, a chat program like AIM, an email notification and others.

Well I do have Norton Antivirus, MSN Messenger and a Pop Up Stopper installed but it still seems strange since I had these installed with the slower processor as well and it did not affect the SereneScreen saver.

Screen savers are about the lowest priority that windows has. About anything can interrupt them. Were there any other changes made to the system at all? Any new software added, any settings changed? I doubt seriously that just changing the processor would make that difference. My money would be on some other change, hidden or otherwise.

This problem I orginally wrote about appears to be fixed with the 2.01 update. I believe it was my pop-up stopper causing the conflict with SereneScreen. It no longer conflicts since I installed 2.01. Thanks!
