Exclamation Wish: Leafy Sea Dragon

I am an owner of Marine Aquarium (OSX), and as I noticed for the first time the slow beauty of the lionfish, I realized the animal that would absolutely take my breath away, if it were in the aquarium: the Leafy Sea dragon. If you have never gazed on one of these creatures, a wonderful sight awaits you. The are from the coast of Australia. There is an exhibit of them at the aquarium of the pacific, in Long Beach, CA. I have never seen anything so beautiful and peaceful in my life.

thanks

Embarassed sea dragon

Wow, what a great forum. that's the best dragon picture I've ever seen.

I appreciate everyone else being supportive and familiar with it and the request.

Best wishes

Wow!

What an incredible creature! Are they related to seahorses? It's certainly got my vote. I'd love to see one in the creature pack (it might need a pack all of its own).

My understanding, which is very limited, is that they are related to seahorses. The male carries the young in the same way. the Long beach aquarium had a first successful breeding (and video tape) of the related species of Weedy sea dragon (which is not as beautiful, but close). Fascinating.

as Michael said , the Leafy Sea Dragon is in the wishlist page longlong time ago, and this thread should combined into wishlist thread.

however, although it's pretty, it's hard to create one, for ppl who have little CG background, they should understand the difficaulty of creating this kind of 3D model, and the obstacle avoidence problem in the tank. Lionfish already gave Jim a headache b4, but yet. I still wish someday it can be included in MA too. They r just too pretty, they swim slowly, I saw them live in Sydney aquarium last yr, they just too smart to camouflage into sea weed

The wishlist thread is 8+ pages, 857 posts....
I'm not going to EVER have the time to wade through all that.

Couple of sites with sea dragon info.

The wishlist I'm refering is on the FanSite's wishlist page not the wishlist "thread", see here: https://www.feldoncentral.com/Sachs/...tegory=Special

it's ok to post the newer & better photo of already requested fish/critter, however, in order to keep the forum standard, better post the similar topic under relative thread rather than create one. Beside, u can do a simple search b4 u post.(may be I'm too picky here, but after being with Morgan and Michael on this forum for long time, I try to make thier job as easier as possible. They r noble to maintain this forum, so we member should try not make thier job tough, just my two cents) However, u r not the one who starts the thread, it's thrashjazz not u, dont' worry.

btw, thx for the link, the pic on http://www.divegallery.com/Leafy_Sea_Dragon.htm page is GREAT! thank you

I have just corrected and clarified the first message in the Wishlist topic (there's a button for it up above) so that it takes you directly to the Wishlist on the fan site.

Now that Michael is making almost daily updates to the Wishlist, the fan site is a good place for people to start and they can read the 8 page topic if they want to see the origins of each suggestion.
