Can't do 3 screens

I have a 3 screen display, two NVIDIA cards; NVIDIA GeForce 6600 GT AGP, and NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 PCI. I can display a desktop of 3072 X 768 with no problem, but I can't get SS to display across all three screens. If I set SS in the window mode, I can stretch it across about 2 2/3 screens, but not all three. Anybody?

You want to s t r e c h the aquarium across three screens? Ain't going to happen... You don't actually have 3072x768 going on there, at best you have 2048x7668 and 1024x768... nVidia doesn't support 3D hardware acceleration across more than two screens with two cards. I would just run the aquarium non-streched one all three screens, each screen gets it's own copy...

I see that you have posted a similar request on the DigiFish forum. - You can have Aqua Garden across two screens, and undistorted, but you will probably find that it is a pain switching to and from Horizontal Span if, like me, you prefer Dual View for most of your normal computer usage.

To me, the advantage of two monitors is running Dual View. The novelty of Horizontal Span soon wears off even when not stretched, - and to me the degree of distortion on images not designed for spanning multi-screens is unacceptable.

With three screens, I can understand your desire for fish swimming between all three, - but not distorted.

Let's talk some more...

You want to s t r e c h the aquarium across three screens? Ain't going to happen... You don't actually have 3072x768 going on there, at best you have 2048x7668 and 1024x768... nVidia doesn't support 3D hardware acceleration across more than two screens with two cards.

Not sure I follow...I can display a 3072X768 pic, stretched across 3 screens, with no distortion. Why can't I do the Serene Screen or Aqua Garden the same way?? What do you mean "don't actually have 3072x768 going on there"?

I know that using my 3072X768 pics to span 3 monitors is different than the Serene Screen App, but can't it be done someway?

Note: in the last display, the Aqua Garden spans 2 2/3 screens...cannot do full three screens.
Sorry for the quality of the pics....just quick and dirty to have something to display/discuss.

What I'm saying is that your computer doesn't think it's really running at 3072x768... It has 3 independant displays of 1024x768 each that total 3072x768 of screen real estate... That's fine for 2D but not 3D... You could use one of your cards with dual output to do a "horizantal span" and have 2048x768, but you can't do that with 3 monitors with 2 separate cards.

So what I mean by saying that you don't actually have 3072x768 going on there is that since each screen's resolution, color depth, and refresh rate is controlled independantly you are not going to get 3D acceleration across all three monitors at once... It's just not possible with that setup...

The regular Aquarium background is 1024x768, and the widescreen version is 1280x768. Stretching it any wider will distort it. I'm currently working on a version with a maximum of 2 widescreens wide, which is probably about what Aqua Garden uses.
