Garbled background

Just installed and I have an interesting issue.

Everything works fine, except on my 28" main display, I get all this weird looking stuff on the background. On my 20" secondary display I don't. All the fish and scenery displays fine.

Running on a core2quad
Vista x86
nvidia quadro FX3400 (driver dated 12/17/09)

I disabled the secondary monitor, disabled aero theme, went down to 800x600, but nothing changed it.

I do quite a bit of rendering in autocad, and have never seen anything like this before.

I rotated the image so it wouldn't make the forum display so wide.

The background is not being "cleared" (refreshed). This can have several causes. Some that come to mind are:

Bad drivers.
Weak or malfunctioning video card.
Not enough video ram.

Either that video card is overheating, or your video drivers are out-of-date. If you allow Windows Update to replace your video drivers or give you a "suggested" driver, this can often happen. Head to nVidia.com and get the latest driver for your graphics card.

And then, after re-installing your graphics drivers, ensure you also re-install DirectX.
