Marine Aquarium 3 Stopped Responding

Jim,

Unfortunately I can't duplicate this problem consistently so I can't be certain of the cause. I have the aquarium set to NOT wake up on mouse move. It's installed as a true screen saver and this has not happened when timer-activated only if I run the program manually - but it hasn't happened in window mode.

Every now and then, after running the program manually, when I press 'ESC' to turn off the aquarium Windows comes back up but I get a: "Marine Aquarium 3 has stopped working" message.

Windows generated a problem report:

I have no idea what's going on there. It's hard enough to keep track of all the operating system glitches on Windows machines, especially Vista64. Transplanting the whole system into a Mac is way beyond my expertise. Eventually there will be a dedicated Mac version, which uses openGL instead of DirectX. That has proven very stable with MA2.6.

Understood

Jim,

Yes, I realize that I'm always running in "beta" on my system. But just to be clear I'm running windows vista 64bit on a hard drive partition. Therefore vista is running the screen saver not mac. But it is all the hardware that mac uses and the apple made for vista drivers running it.

I'm hopeful that the "stopped responding" message has to do with the mac hardware/driver combination and you won't have to worry about this one.

Even if I can't figure out what's happening for you, it isn't a very large bug. It doesn't crash the system or anything like that. It's just a little warning message when the screen saver is stopped. And it doesn't even happen all the time.

I'll let you know if I figure anything else out or if I see some other bugs. But so far so good!

Again, great job! I love it!

Thanks,

Justin
