O.K. Thanks for taking the time to respond.

I got 186 fps, in my Creative Annihillator (GF 256) card.

Is this normal?

Re: HARDWARE Q & A

I'm always surprised when people question/complain about incredibly fast frame rates.

Rule #1: 60fps is damn good.
Rule #2: the more money you spent on your video card, the more you'll get.

Re: HARDWARE Q & A

I have the same card and I ONLY get 120. at the same settings

Is your card the DDR version? and what drivers are you using?

Keep in mind i'm not complaining about the 120fps, but if it's possible to get higer i need to know how. It's kinda my obsession

Re: HARDWARE Q & A

Morgan,

More often then not, it's likely to be one of these 2 things:

A) They honestly don't know if their incredibly high FPS is normal or not because they're not tech heads and all these numbers and terms bewilder them.

or

B) They're just trying to brag about the high FPS they've got because they're gamers (and possibly kids).

Auto 4x AA?

Is it possible to have a switch in the screen saver to Turn on FSAA when it starts up, and then shut it off again when it closes down? The tank looks great on my Voodoo 5500, and even better with FSAA on. But I don't want it on all the time, only with the screen saver. FSAA slows everything else 3D, when high frame rates are required.

Re: Auto 4x AA?

Shinsa,

i thought that with Nvidia cards, one can use a game launcher type program to set the video card settings automatically. I had a Creative Annihilator2 and Creative had something like that.

As far as you Voodoo 5500, you might want to look for something like that on the internet.

Re: Auto 4x AA?

Yes, FishyB, good idea, I'm looking for one now. I have something similar for my Soundblaster Live for EAX, so it is possible to have a game launcher that would do what I want... cool... thanks!

Re: Auto 4x AA?

Could only find one program to do that. Looks like it would work, execpt it is made for .EXE files. Forcing it to load the FISH.SCR or renaming it to FISH.EXE have the same effect. The Launcher open the SS settings window, and doesn't run it proper. If anyone knows a fix for this, I'm all ears.

Re: HARDWARE Q & A

I am not familiar with an nVidia card named exactly like what you describe.

Is this a 64MB GeForce 2? a TnT Riva 2 Model 64 (32MB)?

Can you tell us what exact video card this is according to the original box or build slip for your computer?

If you have a pre-built computer such as Compaq, DELL, etc can you tell us which model so we can look it up and find the specs? Note that some Dell systems require customized video card drivers.

Finally, are you running Windows 95, 98, ME, or 2000?

Re: HARDWARE Q & A

its a dell 800mhz 128 ram, and its Nvidia TNT2 Model 64 with 32 megs.. its a chip set thing i found on Nividia that added a whole slew of things into my display properties under settings/display and then advanced.
this is what was added:tnt 64 that shows all the info up to and including the dll files and info about my driver.
device selection, analog or flat screen
color correction
and under the tnt 64 section it has a additional section with all kinds of adjustment for direct 3d settings-opengl setting and overlay controls and so on..desktop utlities... wow that was a lot.. anyways i was wondering manly about V-sync because i was never able to find it until i install this little up-grade.. now i see it under add. propeties..thanks for any help
