Cool SereneScreen Extras - Will they ever come?

I have been an avid user of the Aquarium since version 99J. I stuck with it through all it's revisions and actually survived the "keycode catastrophe" when the final version came out. All and all, I am very happy that I chose to purchase a legal copy. I am concerned however that it has been over 6 months since I have heard anything about the promised updates ie...3D background, more fish, other creatures. The main reason I purchased it is because I felt I would never get bored with it, it sounded like updates would be frequent....not non-exsistant. Now it looks like all of Mr. Sachs efforts have turned towards the freshwater version. Granted, I will probably purchase a copy of it too, but I would like my Saltwater version to be complete first. Before you slam me for not reading the forums....I have scanned over them and I truely believe that my questions have not been answered there. So here they are.

When will the next update to the Saltwater version be released?

Will it include the 3-D background?

What other fish and or creatures will be included?

I would like for Mr. Sachs to answer these questions himself if possible. That way it will cut don on the chances of a new "rumor mill" being created.

Thank you.

I'd answer, but you have specifically asked Jim to.

My plans are no secret and have been covered several times here in the Forum. First, I have to finish the Freshwater Aquarium program, which is heavily underway at this point. After that, I plan on finishing the 3D background for the Saltwater tank, which will be a free upgrade. Next is the first Saltwater Creature Pak, which is not a free upgrade. The list would then continue with the Butterfly Habitat, Freshwater 3D background and Creature Pak, and the other SereneScreen Programs.

Don't get disheartened Jim has outlayed his plans several times lately, and there have been numerous things going on in the background. While they don't show immediate results here, they will help facilitate additions to the aquarium that will make it absolutely mind boggling. It has been some time since everyone has had something new to Ohhh and Ahhhh over, "The best laid plans of mice and men..." and all, but when you see the results you will be glad for the additions.

We are working on a detailed post that will explain some of the things on the horizon, and let you know exactly what has been happening.

Jims

I found out that the saltwater version 1.1 is 1 year old. We all know that you are working on Fleshwater SS but it may take too much time.
If I were you, I will release one or two additional fish for saltwater version update. (children don't receive gift but rec'd some candy)
I love your work all the time, this is all my personal idea only. Please forgive me.

I can't wait to see a Fleshwater Aquarium.

Is that the swimsuit issue?

It's a shame the Freshwater 3D background has to wait until after the Butterfly Habitat.

I bought the boxed version at Fry's - a couple of weeks
ago. - Its version 1.0. How do I get the upgrade
to version 1.1 with the lionfish? - There does not appear
to be a way to register the boxed version of this software,
which with sales tax was ulmost excactly the same price
as the on line version.

Just download the latest version. Pop in the CD whenever you install an upgrade, and it will act as a Key Code.
