Suggestion for store owners :-)
Hey computer store owners and others using the aquarium as an attention-grabber:
How about spending an extra few seconds and selecting some fish other than the default ones? You have six or seven monitors lined up, all showing the aquarium, all of which are showing the same seven default fish. People think that those seven fish are all you get. I like the fact that I have two computers at home running the aquarium, and each of them have 7 completely different fish. And there are STILL 6 fish left over that I'm not seeing; enough for a third tank! |

I have asked Jim and the people at Prolific working on the installer to make version 1.0 of the Aquarium default to 7 RANDOM slots. However I haven't had the opportunity to test the installer that went onto the CD, so we'll all find out the same way.
I even provided registry snippets. Not only are there thousands of computers out there running the Aquarium with the default 7 fish, but there are thousands of CUSTOMERS who think there are only 7 fish, having never opened the Settings panel. I still think when you run the Aquarium, it should bring up a Help window and have a button at the bottom "Don't show this again". I know for a fact there are thousands of customers who think there are only the 7 default fish and no way to choose others. We see them in chat and get e-mails periodically.

Good, that will be a useful change. I agree with Coel, everytime I go into a store and they have several monitors set up, every single one has the same fish.

Whenever I go into a store and see that I take a moment and switch them all to random while trying to throw salesmen off my trail. They all want to sell me computers for some reason. ^_~
So far I hit the COSTCO in Novato and the CompUSA in Santa Rosa. I'll probably find more as I do my holiday shopping ^_^
