Suggestion

Jim,

I was testing version 10d and have a suggestion.

Currently to adjust the time a logo is displayed you go to settings>clock & logo and adjust the "Show this logo for: 3,2,1, etc. seconds" with 0 for indefinitely. Instead of using 0 why not display a descriptive word like "Indefinitely" or "Forever"? It would be more logical and easier to understand for a person who is new to the aquarium's settings.

Actually, zero means zero (don't show it at all). But your suggestion is pretty good. It would take me a while to implement, as the word "seconds" is in a static part of the textbox, and only the number is live. I'll consider it.

You currently have a situation where there can't be any conflict among settings. Maximum is 240 seconds, and you could have a dozen of those.

If you allow "forever" or "indefinitely", you'll have to handle the situation where many things want to be displayed forever.

0 or -1 is the value that one usually puts in this situation.

Yes. However there would still be the possiblity of conflict - requiring more programming, etc.

i.e., what happens if you have two logos set to -1

You have to reformat and reinstall XP.

If someone wants to display a Logo infinitely, then they can just remove any others, or set them to zero.

That is how I have my logo settings now - and why I thought 0 was used for "Infinitely". I thought you had said in the past if one logo is used and set to 0, it wouldn't query the timer and would save resources.

So is it correct to say - when one logo is displayed 0 means "Infinitely" and when two or more logos are displayed it means "Never"?

Yes, I guess that statement is correct.
