dll not found

Hi I just noticed that my screensaver wasn't coming on and when I right clicked on the fish icon on my destop and hit test a message came up saying a required dll is missing the dsound.dll it was working this morning I have no clue why it would stop the only thing I did was update my starband mission control software but that for my modem...Does anyone have any clue of how I can get back my wonderful screensaver??? thanks for your help in advance. I did purchase this screensaver so I really want it to work again.

Congrats on getting Starband. I'm not sure why installing software for that would have affected the DirectX Sound engine. I can only recommend reinstalling DirectX on your computer.

Let me know if you have any more issues or have trouble getting this to work. There is no need to upgrade to a substantially newer version of DirectX. 8.1 is too new for me to trust it, for example.

That's exactly what I did earlier today and it fixed the problem...i never had a problem with updated my starband software for my modem before...but that was the only thing I did before I noticed my screensaver wasn't working right. I've had starband now for a year and we love it...
