smearing with beta 7J

When going from "showing title bar" to "not showing" there is a smearing of the space left by the movement. No big deal, it goes away as soon as one completes the process.. But, strangely the smearing is different the second time one does this (without closing the SS). The second and subsequent times the space left is filled neatly with the gravel of the bottom.

And.. I like the new icon... although it does not appear by default and one has to physically go to properties and change the icon.

I think you mean that this is only happening when the Settings screen is running. When the titlebar is turned off, the window gets bigger to fill into the space where the titlebar used to be. But since the picture is still the same size, you are seeing random bytes in the new area until you resume the program. I'll see if there might be a way of hiding that area.

Yes.. and it is no big deal..What is strange is the difference between the first and subsequent times. The "space" fills nicely the second and subsequent times one cycles it..

That's because the first time those bytes get painted with the sand picture, then those bytes get released. The next time, the same bytes happen to get chosen for duty in the the picture, and they happen to still contain those values. It's just coincidence - if some other program had needed those bytes, they would contain different values.
