No signs of Widescreen 2.0 yet.

Please accept my apology. We have been swamped. The really annoying thing is that it is 95% done. But the lead programmer’s priorities are our clients first (we do many things here, including “fix” other people’s code).

Usually when someone comes to us, they are in panic. This past few months has been non-stop firefighting. This same programmer is also finishing Sharks.

So the order for him is:
Client fire fighting.
Sharks
WideScreen
New features in all screen savers (like built in specification tracking).

If I were to give an ETA, it looks like Jan 15 right now for HD (widescreen).

You've mentioned HD in the past. So the coral background has been redone in a higher resolution, is this 1600x1200?

Reichart,

Thanks for the update. I'm sure everyone understands the delays associated with software development. Good products take time. Look forward to giving the new version a try.

Already done 'em – but I didn't think they were neither PC nor nC enough so they had to go.

Thanks to Morgan, Tiny Snapshots is up and running again with "Tiny Järvafält" as the latest addition – Go have a look and tell me what you think.

I remembered the line from the Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad-Gita. Vishnu is trying to persuade the Prince that he should do his duty and to impress him takes on his multi-armed form and says,
'Now, I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.'
I suppose we all thought that, one way or another.

I'm going to be upgrading my HTPC in the very near future:

From Newegg:
N82E16813152024 - Chaintech Mobo
N82E16811190003 - Athenatech Case
N82E16820141421 - 256MB PC3200 kit
N82E16819103336 - Athlon XP 2400+

And the main reason I'm putting in such a fast processor is to help me fold. However, my HTPC also runs the widescreen version of the aquarium full time but as has been discussed before it conflicts with the folding client... The problem has been solved in the normal version of the aquarium, but not addressed in the widescreen... Will it be? Has is been already? Ideally I'd like to have it exactly the same as it is now (with the new fish of course), but only use a few percent of my CPU... Will this be the case? ETA? Thanks!
I don't watch commercials.

Marine Aquarium 2 'HD' has now entered beta testing.

Despite the HD moniker, the background resolution is still 1024x768 or 1280x720, depending on whether you choose to run the Aquarium in Widescreen. It's a single download of the Aquarium for both 26-fish versions.

Q: Despite the HD moniker, the background resolution is still 1024x768 or 1280x720.

A: This implies something, that while mostly semantics, I want to address.

We have two products:

a. Marine Aquarium; which has only 1024x768, no support for multiple monitors.

b. Marine Aquarium HD; supports the higher resolution of 1280x720, and also supports multiple monitors. Because it supports these two features, we changed it from the name “Wide” to “HD” (High definition), and in addition, if we have things that take up more memory (and therefore require longer downloads) we would put them in the HD version. This way people can get the product quickly, and for the few people that have “special needs” they can get more cool features, for free.

We plan to make HD versions of most of our products.
