I know that many are wondering why there are so few announcements and so little hoopla regarding MA3. You'd have to look pretty closely at the SereneScreen homepage to even notice that it's talking about MA3 instead of MA2.6 now.

MA3 is still a Beta program, and many things have changed very quickly in the whole website/order-processing chain. We'd really rather have these initial orders trickle in while we test the whole system, instead of a deluge of activity. SereneScreen.com already gets 10,000-12,000 hits a day even in these low-volume times, so we want to make sure the new servers are up to a ten-fold increase.

Once everything is running smoothly and I get a few more features in the program, things will change dramatically. I'm designing a radically different website for SereneScreen which is more in keeping with the direction I want to take the brand.
Sounds great Jim, good work on everything considering all that you have to deal with.

Thanks Feldon for the beta 9 link!

Rick - On the "frozen" monitor, could you look closely and see if the eyes and side fins are moving on the fish?

If the fish are swimming as normal then it can be fixed. We just need to duplicate the problem or just look at the code where it can fail.

The bending of the fish is done by doing an interpolation between their "straight" and "full-bent" positions, then actually replacing all their vertices with those values. The movement of the fins is done by adjusting the rotational local matrix for each fin. That's also how the Gorgonia is moving, so I was hoping that the fins were also motionless.

Beta9a is up: http://www.fish-byte.com/MA3Beta.zip .

This one includes Edgar's latest "Key Code upgrade from CD" fix.

Also includes the latest Clock/Calendar experiments. Just hit "C".

And whether you knew it or not, also contains the fix for the "no gorgonia motion on the third monitor and zero o'clock" time problem!
Thanx!

Yes, I put in an experiment, but didn't want to mention it, in case it didn't work

Nice work Jim, no problems here with the new clock/calendar features.

Also it picked up my Key Code from the registered version without a hitch.

Beta 9a;

No more fishhead fossils in the crystal and works great.

It uses the key code from my registered version 3, and also uses its settings too. The info. display in the upper left corner still appears at start-up.

The seconds hand on the analog version is very smooth and looks great - much nicer with the reduced light reflections on the numerals. Calendar and digital clock appear to be working fine too. Alternate Logo's, clock, and calendar cycle without incident.

Looking good.

The "Official" Beta on SereneScreen.com defaults to the Statistics display being OFF. My "Beta-Betas" here will always default to ON. They also have a 14-day lifespan, while the official versions live forever.

Every couple of weeks, if a test version is stable enough, it will become the official download.

I like the new clock... so can we expect the clam feature soon..
Not to digress from moving on... but, was this "next" beta not supposed to work "only" with the new version 3 key. My copy has yet to see a version 3 key but... works just like the other versions using my old 2.6 key

They are laid out geometrically in Lightwave. Those numbers are just bigger than the others.

Ralph - Beta9a still recognizes a v2.6 Key.

Thanks Jim, had a nice response from Josh. I vote for clock, have been an MA user since v1.?

Day night lighting transitions were awsome as well. Have Day/Night transition follow Clock? HeHe it never stops. Once again Thanks!

Regards,

Dave

Beta9b

Success!

Logo and Clock toggles are now working as expected.

Digi clock changes to 12 hour when Windows... Start\Settings\Control Panel\Regional Options\Time ... is changed to 'hh' etc.
... and changes to 24 hour when Windows... Start\Settings\Control Panel\Regional Options\Time ... is changed to 'HH' etc.

Take a well earned rest! ....... (But not for too long!)
