Yes there are plans for exactly that, but to do so Jim is going to need to break new ground on how it needs to be done. It's down the road some before he tackles that.

The sea apple is going to be a nice addition. Will the feeding tentacles extend and retract?

I'm up for buying a creature pack when they're available :-)

I would love a sea horse - have very many other people requested this?

I didn't know what a sea apple was when Jim mentioned it...i did a bit of research...how awesome is that?...I also read that Butterflyfish and Angels will nip at them so you can't put them in the same tank...we'll have to forgo the reality of life, I guess...lol

pvernam -

Yes, there's a plan to animate the anemone.
Yes, the clownfish will reside there.
Yes, it will be a horrendous amount of work.

I don't know if I dare ask this, - but I will....
Your plan Jim, to let the user choose between several locations for the bubble column. - Will it allow multiple columns?
And will that be, "a horrendous amount of work" ?

Moving the bubble column is relatively easy. The plan is to have about a dozen locations from which to choose. Multiple columns should also be possible.

I'm not putting you on the spot for a time frame but I was just curious if the new fish models will be easier to implement than the "dreaded clamostomy"? Or will you not know until you get into it.

There are three major parts to the fish makeover: New models, new textures, new behavior. It's going to be a hard couple of months.

Right now there are 3 fish models. Triggerfish, Lionfish, and everything else. Will you be increasing this number?

Technically, each fish has its own model of a slightly different shape even now. All the fish will have more working parts, including mouths and gills. The fins will have more polygons so that they can bend more realistically.

I've always said you can never have enough polygons. Just don't ever take them without eating something first!

I switched to a higher-res texture. The old one was a little blurry.
