The old me would probably take a jab at Mac superiority and stablilty here, but since I've converted I guess I'll just go wait for my new video card (though I won't be running the old one as well in a Cube )

Thanks to Morgan, Tiny Snapshots is up and running again with "Tiny Järvafält" as the latest addition – Go have a look and tell me what you think.

"We knew the world would not be the same. A few people laughed, a few people cried, most people were silent.
I remembered the line from the Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad-Gita. Vishnu is trying to persuade the Prince that he should do his duty and to impress him takes on his multi-armed form and says,
'Now, I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.'
I suppose we all thought that, one way or another.

It's all a matter of programming and the assumptions made by the people who write the software. Dealing with a multiple monitor environment (possibly driven by multiple video cards of differing capabilities) isn't that hard on the Mac, but it does require some thought and effort, especially if you are trying to "push the envelope" according to the capabilities of the video card(s).

My current pet peeve for Windows games is the requirement (by some games) that you be logged on as Administrator to play the game (e.g., Sims 2). Especially since it's my kids who are playing the game and thus have to be allowed to log-in as Administrator to play. The "simplifying assumption" of a single-user environment by the game programmers is quite a concern.

Also, many developers aren't running multiple monitor systems which means that there isn't much personal incentive to do it right. Nothing like having your software's warts in your plain view to motivate you to fix it. Most Mac only developers I've known have had to accomodate multiple monitors for 15 years (Mac II days) and have personally HAD multiple monitors for the majority of that time and can't imagine working on a single monitor.

It's too bad that it was never streamlined on the PC.

TwinView is a kludge. Who wants program windows and the taskbar spanning across 2 monitors?
