Jim,

Any possibility that you could post a picture of the lion fish that will be in the tank, or a picture of the tank with the lionfish (maybe something that we could all use as a desktop background), to wet all of our insatiable appetites as we patiently await the arrival of your next masterpiece?

Any possiblilty?

Please... Please... please....

Thanks,

DeltaLima - Yes, that's a Volitans, but the one in the tank is much younger and hasn't grown "horns" yet.

Juvenile Pterois :

Infos for the lionfishes : malawicichlidhomepage.com and amonline.net.au

I wonder what will be the english name... red firefish, butterfly cod, turkeyfish, peacock lionfish. Any idea ?

Edit : Will the "chosen one" be white and brown, or more red-brown, or even black (like this one ) ?

Cool Quick Question

Hi. I was just wondering if when the upgrade becomes available for those of us that have the 99L version, will we get some kind of notification via email or should be just check back here on the forums? I'm really looking forward to it and want to know about it as soon as I can get it.
Thanks.

Gerty,

Prolific should send out a mass e-mail to everyone who signed up for updates.

Hopefully, people who have accounts here at the forum will get notified first (if I'm quick enough!).

I just added a few features to 1.1.

1. The settings get saved upon exit, including the position of the starfish.

2. To accomodate those people with Autocad, you will now be able to rename the Aquarium with an .exe extension and double-click to run it.

3. The jaw movement of the Lionfish is now random.

4. The "floating starfish" (and sometimes program crash) if the 7th fish slot was a triggerfish is now fixed.

5. I completely changed the timing system to use unsigned longs instead of floats. Hopefully, this will fix the "bubble speedup" problem, but I'm working in the blind on this one.

Did you fix the bug with the Royal Gramma's left fin being bright even when the rest of the environment is dark?

Starfish position

Jim, you are my hero. I hated that the poor starfish always had to go back to his original position -- got to where I postponed doing real work to keep the screensaver running and let him get a little farther!

Best screensaver ever.

Cool Silly Lionfish Question

I own a 3 yr. old male volitans, and love him to death.

Will the digital version have some of the "lion-idiosyncrasies" that are prevalent in the species? (Ex: hanging out nose-down, sleping upside-down under cave roofs, etc)

I love my serene screen (and it's much easier to keep clean) and look forward to any additions you have.

Well, it remains motionless a lot, and this is often nose-down. Upside down in caves, no.

Well, I have to admit that is a new one on me. I have never seen one upside down in a tank before. But, then again, I never had a Volitans in any of my setups where I could watch one all the time either.

Thumbs Down

I have always believed that by taking tiny little baby steps, you eventually end up with the ability to make great leaps and bounds. As much as I greatly anticipate the release of any new speciality fish, including the up and coming lionfish, I hope you refrain from all the pressure that appears to be bombarding you from all sides to quickly release this fish and take what ever time it takes to work out any and all bugs that may be associated with the complexity of such a task. I have waited for more than a year to see you do this, and commend you for all your effort. If and when, any aspect of your work is finally released, I will know that it will be worth it's weight in gold having to have waited to see it in my aquarium.
