How about a "N" key switch to have fish names floating next to fish?

Just thought it would be cool. Sick of people asking me the names of the fish when they stop by. I could just hit the "N" key.

Maybe the "N" key could cycle through different options.

"Name, Latin, Location, Diet, Artist"

So... the N key would display it momentarily? I just wouldn't want the names floating next to the fish ALL the time. If thats the case.. then yea, that'd be cool.

No the same way the wire frame works. Hit "N" it shows "names", hit "N" again it shows "Common names", hit "N" again it shows "Latin names", hit "N" again it shows "Locations",
hit "N" again it shows "Diet", hit "N" again it shows "Artist" and then hit "N" again it returns to normal.

Names floating next to the fish is something rarely seen in a real aquarium.

I think the idea has some merit – Just pick a key not currently occupied by a different function.
Thanks to Morgan, Tiny Snapshots is up and running again with "Tiny Järvafält" as the latest addition – Go have a look and tell me what you think.

In wireframe mode, everything is wireframe so it doesn't screw with the reality of the normal aquarium. If this naming feature were to implemented, the only way I would approve it is if it just happened in wireframe mode.

Then the whole idea should be scrapped as that would defeat the purpose as the fish are considerably harder to identify when stripped of their skin.

Perhaps a "official" downloadable wallpaper with all the fish named? (I know, I'm reaching...)

You don't have 20 copies of the Fish Guide on-hand at the office for when people ask?

*Tsk tsk*

LOL, I just use my memory, as I'm sure the RAM of human brain is not only constrained in MB~GB rang and I beleive my CPU is faster, as I know Neural Network of human brain switching time can be faster than computer in some cases, especially on name

eg, if I ask u what's my mother's name, u can reply me without a thinking that u dunno, but for computer it has to search over its database and then found nothing so report it dunno.

Human brain's still the best computer, so USE YOUR brain.

James' mom – Now there's a "Tiny Detective Challenge" if there ever was one! Could prove quite difficult... Hmm, Any clues, James?
