I have additional information.
When I close the lid of my laptop after a while the screensaver comes on.
When I open the lid to work on my laptop I don't have the previous explained problem.
The screen comes up with a nice screensaver.
I have only and always the problem when after a few minutes not working, the screensaver switch on (with the lid open of course).
I hope this will be helpfull ....

Best regards from France.

The simple solution... is not to stop working... untill you want to see the nice screensaver. Or.. ....set the time until the screensaver starts... Desktop.. right click... properties.. select screen saver.. find settings.. adjust. Possibly you can set what happens when you close your lid here as well

Screensaver with lid open --- BAD
Screensaver after lid closed --- OK

I've just installed Windows 7 RC1 on one of my machines. Does anyone have a good link to an nVidia drivers site which might have suitable W7 drivers?? nVidia's own support has the latest drivers for my FX5600XT (Morgan - hush!), which only get me a traily aquarium - i.e. where as the screen pans, trails of coral and fish are left on the background. I'm hoping that my current graphics card is not a lost cause with W7. :-S

That's not (normally) one of the options. Yes, the screen may be switched off, but....

Tell us what it says in Power Options for "When I close the lid".
