Hey Jim any news:
Are there bugs still being found?
How many bugs still on your list to fix?
Maybe we'll see it in October?

Highlander - can't take the time for a screenshot.

Henemly - the problem only shows up on dual-monitor setups.

Big Grin almost!

okay team... no more 'feature requests' or 'screen-shot' requests... :-) lets let the artist (& team) finish their final draft composition. Ive read enough to know its going to be great... no point in pulling the man from behind the curtain when the great oz is about to launch his greatest digital production to date!

I know of a good bug spray Jim can use that won't harm the fish .

hololo, We've all been waiting patiently (some more than others) for many years....Let's let the anticipation grow just a little longer and be patient.

Have we really been waiting over 6 years for the freshwater? Doesn't sync with my memory, but the last decade has been blurry and confusing for me.

Yeah, time does go by real fast sometimes, especially the older you get. I'm very excited about the release of the beta as I'm sure all of you are as well. Six years and another masterpiece is about to be unveiled. My new laptop will be the main little beast running it. Can't wait..

Smile Time changes things.

Take a moment and try to remember the computer you were using when MA was first released. Floppy drives? VGA monitor? 256k memory?

MA3 finds a completely new environment. Jim will have to get into holograms for the future versions!

That will be worth waiting another 6 years for

Hi all, the 6 years I was talking about was for the FRESHwater (which isn't coming anytime soon). We haven't been waiting that long for 3.0. We've been waiting longer!!!! The 3d Background was mentioned all the way back in days of .99 I think that's just about a decade right?

I have a feeling we'll all find this was totally worth the wait though, and the timing was just right.

Again, it is up to Jim to give the full details and answers on this, but back in 2003, I saw the Freshwater Aquarium running. I saw rocks, plants, and the flawless treasure chest opening and closing, some in the Aquarium, some in mockup state. The two main things missing were fish and collision avoidance.

Now that Jim has invested all the time necessary in Marine Aquarium 3 for the collision avoidance, I am hoping that the Freshwater Aquarium will not take "years". But we will just have to see. I don't want to inject foolish optimism or put words in Jim's mouth.

I wonder if the models of fish, chest, etc from the freshwater pre-alphas are compatible with the new MA "engine".

Yes, they are comapatible. In fact, that's the system I started MA3 with.

Sure - why don't I just name a date and time so that everyone can plan their lives around it?
