Mac Version?

Is there a Mac Version of SSA released yet, or very nearly?

I have had a lot of collegues comment on my screensaver, and enquire if it is available for their Mac G4's.

Many Thanks,

Montana_UK

Montana_uk, a Mac version does not exist at the moment. There might be a Mac version in the not so near future but there's no guarantee yet.

What?
Are you talking about M$'s XP Plus, with the SSA bundled inside?

Yes, he's talking about the 3-fish demo included in the Plus Pack. The Windows-exclusive agreement expires next month.

hey, pipeta, did you actually count it?

BTW, you can almost register the aquarium with 17$

Now, this is my stupid idea: I'm going to make a freshwater aquarium using a TV. I need somebody to send his old big TV to the trash so I can recycle it I already have plans about making everything hiding inside, and changing the buttons using leds to show if it's working or not, and some switches so you can control everything, filter, bubbles, light.... using the old TV buttons.

It's an idea... now I need time, and an old TV to start

And something stupid to think about: why you say "freshwater" and "saltwater"? isn't saltwater fresh too?
maybe that's why in spain, we say (translated), sweetwater and saltwater?

Salt is the single most influential substance in the history of human civilization.

We all think of it as a table spice, but before freezing, salt was the only way to keep food fresh. Salt was more valuable than gold to the rise and fall of societies.

So I think the Salt Water versus Fresh Water comes from the fact that salt is heavily associated in our language and our past as preservative for non-fresh food.

Fun facts. Salary and Soldier are both Roman words derived from salt. Soldiers were paid in Salt regularly, and no army could be sustained or travel without salt. Now think about the phrasees that have salt in them like "he's really worth his salt".

I was just responding to hpman *implying* that English speakers use wierd words for water.

I guess I could have said it's like Salt Cod versus Fresh Cod, but that probably wouldn't really explain anything.

hpman77,
And something stupid to think about: why you say "freshwater" and "saltwater"? isn't saltwater fresh too?
And something stupid to think about: why you say "sweetwater" and "saltwater"? Is sweetwater sweet or does it have sugar in it?

That's the beauty behind different languages. Different strokes for different folks but in the end it all means the same so I don't think that it matters what words people use to describe something. Just as long as we know what it means.
Frank

Socrates, I can't really figure out if you think I was being sarcastic or not. Either way, – I wasn't. The etymology of words is something I find really interesting and could discuss whenever anyone feels like to.

Going Off-Topic??

Just to bring it to all your attention - I started this thread coz I was asking if there was a Mac version of SSA.

Got my answer, so why has it evolved into talking about Salt Water and Fresh Water??

Can I turn off the Email Notification now, cos I don't need to see "arguements" about water anymore...

Later,

It does seem to have slightly wandered. Just remember everyone, The Coffee House is the place for discussions not related to the aquarium.
