Ah ok, thanke.
But these for the goldfishtank? They would fit better into the freshwaterone I think. Snails would be better for the algaeproblem

I have a Plecostomus in my real goldfish tank, he keeps it completely clear of any alage, you must watch them though, because they like to suck the slime from the goldfish body, that is the only flaw I see with them. This can kill a goldfish if it is overdone. Try to keep a small one rather than one of a larger size.

Matze,
A pleco is (IIRC) intended for the fresh water tank.

Marian,
Interesting. Perhaps you – and the tank – would be better off with the smaller Ancistrus species. They eat algae better, don't grow as large and breed fairly easily (except for the guy in the above link).

I'll be setting up a new tank soon, and like always I'll be using Ottos for my algae control.

That's a great idea, was not aware of another species that might work as well as the Plecostomus, I will go to Pets Mart and see if I can find one. Hopefully they might take my Plecostomus. Thanks Tiny

They're really small so you should have no problems getting a Tiny one

Thanks to Morgan, Tiny Snapshots is up and running again with "Tiny Järvafält" as the latest addition – Go have a look and tell me what you think.

I remembered the line from the Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad-Gita. Vishnu is trying to persuade the Prince that he should do his duty and to impress him takes on his multi-armed form and says,
'Now, I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.'
I suppose we all thought that, one way or another.

Yay for Otos, I like them way better than Plecos. But the Goldfish Aquarium should stay Goldfish Only, IMHO.

don't get me wrong here but i think the tank needs some add-on species to look more real-life.
i really do hope those programmers will put it in.
hopefully just can enable/disable the plecos or otos but not selectable in fish configuration setting.

The gold fish does need something , but those other fish (Plecos and Otos) are for warmer tanks . A gold fish tank is cold water . you don't even put a heater in one . A pleco would die in water that cold .
Thank you for taking the time to read this.

wshirey,
this is the virtual tank , i don't think they will die
yes i already know this may happen in the real life.
as for marian stated she do have it in her tank though and of course mine also.

as for the temp. in GA , we don't have a thermometer stick to the tank. so we can't assume the water is suitable or not.(just my opinion, not intended to "shoot" anyone).

is there any other creatures that's suitable for the both temp?

Although goldfish are cold water fish, and we do not put heaters in the tank, they are inside a home, thus the tanks usually are only a few degrees below room tempertures, and most of us keep the fancy goldfish which really do require warmer water than the common goldfish, like comets. I once kept a betta, a tropical freshwater fish in my goldfish tanks for a couple of years, which you aren't suppose to do, he did great and rule the tank. He never actually harm the goldfish but he love to chase them. I didn't do that deliberately, just happen the fish was without a home and that was the only tank I had set up at the time.

New to posting this forum. I've been user of SW/GA for a long time. I've been watching from afar. Love 1.0 The castle looks good, but induces post traumatic goldfish death syndrome in me. My just plain ole comet got his fat butt lodged in one of the towers during a night and inflicted so much trauma, that he met his Maker. Anyway, I really wanna see dual monitor support. How cool is that to sit at one monitor and work and see Jack and Ginger play on the other?

Sunny, THAT'S a beautiful fish!

I would like to see another "Gold" fish.

All this discussion is making me want to set up an aquarium again. I have NO ROOM, and I have long ago gotten rid of all my stuff.

Yes I know that . I just thought they wanted to keep it as real as possible Besides , the only way the fish would die would be if I got a virus ....

Hey buddy . First I want to welcome you to the forums . And second , as for dual monitors , I run the goldfish on dual now . But it is a little stretched but if you want to work and see the tank at the same time you can do what I do . Have the tank run in window and then make it as big as the monitor . Then move it to the monitor of your choice . I have mine running on the right monitor and have the browser or what ever else I want to do on the left monitor . It looks great (no stretching) and it only uses maybe 1 or 2% more on the cpu . But if you got a strong system your set . Give it a try if you haven't already .
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
