I meant that there already is a ** The SereneScreen Freshwater Aquarium WISHLIST ** thread in this sub forum. Lots of the fish wished for here are discussed there.

Tiny:

I requested an arrowana back near the announcement of the freshwater tank too, and I remember your posts on it. I'm kind of surprised that more people haven't clamored for them.

Anyway, this reminded me of a time way back when I was actually bored enough to pound out a little poem emphasizing the screensavers need for this fish. At the time I figured I would post it here on the forum and it would be good for a laugh. However, once it was done and I saw that it was the MOST PATHETIC THING EVER WRITTEN I decided it should never see the light of day, and tucked it away in a corner of my computer. Where, of course, I found it just now.

So, here it is, for your comedic enjoyment! Calle, this one's for you!

I want a arrowana
with a silver shiny sheen
gliding graceful and majestic
across my 'puter screen

I wanna arrowana
one that's pretty big, not small;
a little aro's not much better
than having none at all

I wanna arrowana
I know tetras can be pretty
but pint-sized pisces never moved me
to compose a tribute ditty

If I don't get an arrowana
I'll take it with aplomb
by calling you late in the night
to make jokes about your mom

In this bleak unhappy life
filled with uncertainty and strife
we look up to our screen savers
to provide uplifting flavor
that our existences have so long lacked

And though I really can't condone
getting trigger-happy like Al Capone
In these dark and desperate times
(a cliché but hey, it rhymes)
when our kids can't spell "Botswana"
because they're hooked on marijuana
my desire cuts like a katana
and burns hot as a sauna
for my favorite aquatic fauna
of all time

I wanna arrowana
it will help promote world peace
give us an arrowana
that we can feed live meese

And I thought you were cool for picking a name related to octopods... – Wow, Ceph! Wow squared with sugar, a cherry and hot fudge on top. Talk about making my day...

P.S.
I wanna arrowana too

hey great poem, i noted too in the may 15th discussion wondering if an arowana would make an appearance, i have had a 3 foot silver as well as my current 11in black or some would call it blue arowana. it would be a great variation from the other free swimmer, and cruise at the surface level, i assume its length causes some calculation challenges =( but even a more exotic x cross back asian would be fantastic, something that only a special few can obtain.

Wetmonkey,
I got two words for you:

lol I know this feeling! Only about a third of my old bedroom was walking space, the rest was fishtanks and bookshelves!

I'm still wondering how to explain to the wife that someday I'm going to need to take up half a room with a tank for both an arrowana and an Amazon red-tail catfish.
