Cool Light play on fish?

The answer to this may be buried in old posts, but it seems like the light play (from surface waves) that is so easily seen on the background and on the starfish does not appear on the fish themselves. Is it there at all (just hard to see?) or is it absent on purpose? Its not a big deal but it does seem just a little odd once you notice.

Thanks.

It's not there.

It's not absent on purpose.

It's absent because it's a lot of work to add.

But Jim DOES want to add it some day.

In walking the fine line between what is necessary for realism and the effort to actually accomplish it, this is one of those items that didn't make the original cut. Very few people notice it, and the work involved would have delayed the launch for many months. Some day.

Is this something that you are looking at including with the 3D background? ...and will the 3D background also come in a widescreen version (I sure hope so!)

...can you tell I'm excited about the 3D background? I know, patience grasshopper....good things will come to those who wait.

The 3D background version will be a single download compatible with 4:3 ('normal'), 16:9 (wide), and possible dual monitor systems.

Each screen size will simply show a different percentage of the 8:3 ratio background, and then scroll back and forth to reveal all of it (except the dual monitor, which is already showing all of it).

Morgan's right, the 3D background will make the separate widescreen version unnecessary.

I don't currently plan to make the lightplay on fish part of the 3D background version.
