Today I thought we should try and add something extra to the Start menu: A icon in the right part of the Windows XP Start menu.
I've included both 24x24 and 32x32 icons (the latter is being used when "Show large icons" are activated) for the same 20 fish as the last time. Hopefully I'll get around to nailing that last Powder-blue Tang together with the new fish when MA 2.0 is released. Download here (82 kB) /Tiny Hack |

Say I've got an icon saved to disk and want to open it and edit it a little. How do I do that? I've tried opening the icon file with Photoshop but it wont let me. Do I have to change the file name and/or extension first?

Wow, a blast from the past.
You'll need one of the dozens of icon editors to edit .ico files.

I rarely used it and hardly ever use IconForge, but it's there when I need it.

Hehe,
Perhaps it senses users' fear... As with avatars, I do most of the icon as a psd in Photoshop and then import it into MicroAngelo for the transparency and resizing. /TinyAngelo Thanks to Morgan, Tiny Snapshots is up and running again with "Tiny Järvafält" as the latest addition – Go have a look and tell me what you think.

I do all the transparency and resizing in Photoshop and then feed BMPs or GIFs to GIF Movie Gear for animation.

Looks nice, Morgan. I'll look in to it (probably should check out the new stuf in my ImageReady CS as well )

What I like about GIF Movie Gear is that it is fully MANUAL except for the Optimization settings. You can control every element.
What drove me nuts about Microangelo was the multiple programs to accomplish the same task. It also seemed strange/kludgy to open and save icon files.
