This thread contains the links to download the latest Installer and Standalone versions of MA3:
Marine Aquarium 3 Beta NEWS & DOWNLOAD You can SUBSCRIBE to that thread to receive an e-mail any time there is an updated version. There is currently no way to get an e-mail ONLY when the Installer version is updated. It wouldn't do to subscribe to THIS thread, as it is a discussion thread and gets lots of hits during the month.

If there is a genuine desire, then I will split off and create a whole separate Installer News thread which you can post new releases to. It would be structured in a similar way to the Beta thread that you've been posting to.
I would scale back some of the rhetoric and if folks want more info, they can go over to the Beta thread and read more detail..

I'm hoping Prolific will be able to get Beta10d up as the official version today.

music question
Jim first I want to say I love your new aqarium and I love more each day. Question and I'm not sure this is the right thread. I wanted to add some of my music but it appears the tracks I got from itunes store are mp4 format. Will this format be supported in future updates?

I'm not sure yet. In the meantime, there are a lot of programs available to convert them to MP3, WMA, or AIFF formats.

OOPS.. it seems that the new MarineAquarium3-2.exe when installed removes the play list of the beta version...Yet does not remove or change the logo setup / files

That's probably a function of the installer. It's always safest to rename playlists if you want to keep them when using the installer.

It would be called a BUG in the installer, if it changes any pre-existing user settings. And, beating a dead horse - there's no current user documentation telling users where the playlists are. |

Presumably, a bug report in this thread (such as the one Ralph reported) gets it fixed. |

The whole purpose of the installer was to create a blank playlist in the correct folder on all possible systems from 2000 to XP to Vista to Windows 7. There was no easy way to communicate to the user that due to Microsoft finagling, the folder the MA3 looks for logos and playlists is quite different on different systems.
Everything else, the user can figure out themselves. Going forward, the installer should check for the existence of the file and not overwrite it though.

This is the first time that Prolific has used this particualr installer software, and they are not even certain if it's the final one. Nova (our new hardcopy publisher) has their own, and we might end up going with a modified version of theirs. None of this is in my hands.

The question is how (if) we should report problems with the installer. Here? SereneScreen "tech support"? Somewhere else? |

GWG - The latest installer version at SereneScreen.com is 10d (which is the very latest version as of today, June 6). Simply run the Aquarium and press the "S" key to show the Statistics, which includes the version number. The number of bytes and the "T..." number will vary depending on whether that copy of the program was compiled on my system or Edgar's.
Dale - I guess this is as good a place as any to report installer problems.
