![]() Its pretty late here so I havent had time to test it more than just briefly, but all seems to work so far. I really like the way you present the fish in the pick window. It looks really nice! (One thing I'm not that sure of is the Times New Roman type of font for the fish names though... but maybe its just me?!) ![]() Would it be possible to have the fish visible when dragging it too?! That would be cool! ![]()

Very nice to drag and drop fish.
Can you implement the "load the last settings" by starting the program? By mine computer the field under "Save as" and "delete" is empty and also the field over the "Starfish Settings" is preset with "not set", the fish-slots are exactly with my last saved settings. Is there a way to directly input the Starfish position with keyboard and not from the another GUI, I know what position I'd like to have... |

Very nice Ronald! I agree with Swede. Is it possible to have the fish visible when dragging it?

Swede,
One thing I'm not that sure of is the Times New Roman type of font for the fish names though...
This was a temporary workaround to make names fit under the pictures, but I changed that now.
Would it be possible to have the fish visible when dragging it too?!
Yes, I am working on that.memilm,
Can you implement the "load the last settings" by starting the program?
The program loads the current setting at startup, which I think is the most logical way. Do you want to load your last saved custom setting? I could make a checkable option for that in the menu if that is what you mean.
"Starfish Settings" is preset with "not set"
I do not know how to translate the current starfish coordinates found in the registry to anything that makes sense. "not set" seemed better than to just leave it empty. At least that way you know that you can set them. Fish Picker 2.0.2: http://home.wanadoo.nl/sfinx98/progs/picker.zip |

My first time downloading it.
Pretty awesome! Better than I could do. And the file size is not bad either.

Yes, a checkable option for the last setting loading on start would be fine.

The fish are now visible when dragging them. But although the drag-icon is from the same source-file as the normal fish image it somehow shows smaller on my system.
Fish Picker 2.0.4: http://home.wanadoo.nl/sfinx98/progs/picker.zip Morgan, I am glad you like the fish picker. And I am sure that if you would spend as much time as I did on this, you'd come up with something similar. The filesize is ok for a Visual Basic program, but I suppose some people will have to get the VB6 runtime files, which adds 1 Mb to the download. memilm, The option for loading the last saved custom setting will be in the next update. |

I really hope Prolific is watching.
Of course, if this were integrated INTO the Aquarium, then I would clamor for the whole "Advanced Settings" page where you dictate what percentage chance each fish has of being picked for RANDOM. ![]() This is a really nice program, indeed. You've put a ton of time into it, I can tell.

starfish
When I set the starfish to a position it doesn't work. The off feature will not work either. I set it and click on apply and it doesn't affect the starfish position it stays in the same place. Everything else about the fish picker is working. Any suggestions?

loub516,
Did you extract the reg files to the same directory as the main program? And does it work when you execute the reg files directly? |

I really admire the work you put into this, Mountainmaster. I think your program is really great now, and it sures adds a level of functionality to Jims Aquarium. It's now really easy to experiment with different inhabitants in the aquarium, and more fun too!

When updating to a newer version of Fish Picker, do I just install it over the older version or do I need to delete the whole folder first?

Starfish
Sorry I'm not that computer literate. Double clicked on the reg files. It asked if I wanted to add them to the registry I clicked yes. After this the first time I tried it, it worked. Now there is no starfish.

Run the actual Fish Picker and turn the Starfish back on.

starfish
Uninstalled and reinstalled the aquarium program and got the starfish back clicked on the files to enter them in the registry and lost it again. Did the uninsatall, reinstall again and got it back. The picker is working except for the starfish positioning part. Any other suggestions. Thanks for the help.
![]() Looked in the picker program, the starfish was not turned off, but still didn't show up. Mountainmaster, this is a great program. Really appreciate the work you've put into it so far. Also tried installing the picker program again. Last edited by loub516; 05-30-2002 at 04:53 PM. |

Why do you keep clicking on the files?Just run the picker and do your settings there. Pretend the Picker is the only file in that directory. I can see now why Jim was so militant in having the Aquarium as a single file with no extra add-on packs or other files.

loub516,
My guess is you have the aquarium running when you apply the settings, and then close and restart it to see the results. That works for the fishes but not for the starfish, because the aquarium saves the starfish position on exit thus overwriting the position set from the fish picker. If that still doesn't solve things maybe you can tell me from which directory you run the fish picker. Then I can try to replicate the problem. There was a bug with some directory names in a previous version which I am pretty sure I solved, but who knows... |

Mountainmaster
your program is getting better and better, I really like the way u manage the iteams on the menu bar. if u want more improvements, here my suggestions 1. Make the fish appears translucent while dragging, and if possible, make it as big as shown on the slots 2. Create some hot-key for function short cut such as Ctrl+S for Save, Alt+S for bring up Starfish setting, Ctrl+A for Apply, Ctrl+Z for Undo, etc Even some hot-key for starfish position short cut like memilm asked
Is there a way to directly input the Starfish position with keyboard and not from the another GUI
, like Shift+A ~ J for ten positionsagain....ur programe is just so wonderful!!
