Wire frame view

Was poking around with the various settings and came accross "w". The wire frame for the fish I can understand but what are all the "other" lines for?. Are these "paths" for the fish to follow?
Just curious?

The background and the lightplay objects. If the fish had "paths" to follow, then v1.1 would have been out weeks ago.
