Do you ever SEE the Starfish climb?
Starfish just seems to be moving his arms when I watch him, and he only appears on/off the screen after the foreground lights have faded and reappeared. I've never actually see him climb the screen.

You must have the foreground lights turned down all the way. When he has 1 or 2 legs stretched out on the front glass, manually turn down the lights and then hit the "W" key for wireframe mode. You can watch him spring up onto the front glass, and then turn the lights back up and revert to normal viewing mode. He is limited to about the bottom 3rd of the front glass to keep him from being right in the middle of the screen and blocking your view of other things. But he will crawl anywhere in this area over the front glass.

The movement to climb from the sand to the glass would take many weeks for me to program, so I used the trick of only allowing the starfish to make the switch when the lights are completely down.
