Use with large plasma displays
I plan to use SereneScreen with a 50 inch plasma panel (when it isn't showing TV or movies!). A number of people over on AVSforum.com are also interested.
I understand there is a 16x9 version which is great. I can't tell from the demo or this forum however if there is more than one background in the shipping product. Plasma panels suffer from 'burn in' of static computer images, so I'd ultimately like to rotate the background images every few minutes if possible, otherwise the plasma could be damaged. Is this a current or future feature? Thanks! |

There will only be one background, but right now Jim is working on a new double width 3D background to replace the one that we have now. You will be able to have this one scroll back and forth to see the entire thing over the range of movement.

At the moment, there is just one background. The widescreen is available for download to any legal user. The automatic lights are there to prevent burn-in.
The new 3D background will be 2 screens wide and able to automatically scroll back and forth. It will also be a free download for any registered user.

That is great news - thanks.
I posted a link to the site over on AVSforum. I know there are thousands of people out there with plasma screens just dying for something like this! |
