Aquarium stops...
Ahoy.
My dad tried MV on his Mac G3 about 6 months ago...but it would randomly quit and just stay on the desktop. I never figured that one out cause I'm not around there enough...he ended up removing it. But just today, a neighbor asked me for help with Dreamweaver. While I was fixing that for her, she said, "my aquarium screensaver just suddenly stops." Hmmm. I told her to call me the next time it did it. We started it up, and after 5m, it came on. I left. 2 hours later she called. Sure enough, it was on the desktop. The screensaver showed as running (2.0 in the Finder). But the hot corner didn't work and it wouldn't come on after 5m of inactivity. She has an iMac DV 450 with 128MB RAM and OS 9.2.2 -- and nothing else was open/running at the time.... I quit the program and started it again...all was then fine. So something causes the program to just stop...I tried Energy Saver on after 30m and "Never"--no difference. The only thing I see on her system is a program alias in the Startup folder...is that correct? Maybe Norton is doing a file save or something and that causes the thing to stop? Any ideas? I'm stumped and I'm gonna lose my rep as Mr. Fixit if I can't figure this out...haha. --Mr. Can't Fixit-- |
