Does the starfish ever go all the way up the tank glass? I have left mine on for long periods and it moves all over from left to right but sticking mainly on the bottom of the glass. Never all the way UP the glass yet. Just curious.

No it doesn't . I wish it did . When I had my tank I had different kinds of star fish , and the one in the SS , he went all the way up .
It would be cool to see him go up . ![]()
Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Jim set limits for the height that the starfish can get too, it keeps him from obscuring the fish as bad.

Liath,
If you have the lights set to a specific slot and they never change the starfish will never get there, it has to be dark in the tank for it to happen. You can watch and when he gets close dim all your lights and switch to wireframe, you can tell when he changes to the glass, and then turn your lights back up.

My automatic lights don't work. I noticed some other people have had the same problem. I know that somebody fixed it by reinstalling, but I have never bothered trying this. I can turn the lights off by hand, and I figured that if I had the patience I could probably coax the starfish up there by turning the lights off at the right moment. Of course, then I'd have to coax him off the same way

Liath,
Have you not considered trying Mountainmasters FishPicker? - I can recommend it! - ![]() You can then place him on the glass at will! |

The Fishpicker is nice, but I tend to not use add-ons , extensions, or mods for software. My computer tends to get too cluttered, and I end up having problems when I upgrade the original software. whine......whine.....whine

Fish Picker is extremely well-written and stable. It does not clutter up any part of the computer.
Many tech support issues are caused by folks using old versions of all their software and conflicts.
