Aquarium flashing in blue & white
Aquarium was running great until today. Now it's sorta blue& white blocks & flashing violently. Guess this is h/ware related & I'm unsure of all my system details - Win 98SE, 800 MHZ Pen3, 256 MB RAM, know it's a Gigabyte m/board & nVidia chipset. Just had new video card & monitor installed - GeForce 2 MX/MX400, & Samsung SyncMaster 151S. I honestly don't know where to find the refresh rate or where this nSync is.
Anyway, after all this, the Aquarium looked great as always, but I haven't turned it on the last coupla days cos my mouse died & I got a new mouse yesterday, a MS Intellipoint wireless optical, I dunno if this has something to do with it or not. Today I've tried Aquarium several times, have also re-booted, now its just a barely discernible Aquarium, all flashing blue & white blocky shapes. In its settings, I've checked, then unchecked, the disable Power Management. Can anyone help me find the cause B4 I ring the installation teckie? I guess more info is needed but not sure what. |

BTW I uninstalled Aquarium, re-booted & re-installed it, still the same.
Also just found vSync & turned it off, & my monitor's refresh rate is set to what it was before - Optimal |

Sounds like your new optical mouse might be using the same IRQ as the video card.
Anyone out there have experience with this setup?

On System Information, for the Display Adapter, twice it says IRQ 9 mask x FFFF mask & once it says IRQ 0 mask x FFFF
For mouse, it twice says IRQ 12 mask x 0000 & once it says IRQ 0 mask x 1000. Dunno if that helps or if I'm quoting the wrong thing. Also in another bit, it says there are no conflicts/sharing, is that relevant? |

Happy ending. Running dxdiag showed things were very wrong with DirectDraw. After DirectX re-installed, Aquarium's running nicely again.
