Aquarium and ATI Catalyst 2.4
Hi,
I've just upgraded to the ATI Catalyst 2.4 drivers and now the Aquarium won't start. I get the dreaded dialog about sending an error report to Microsoft. I have an ATI Radeon All In Wonder 8500. The Aquarium was working fine on the Catalyst 2.2 drivers. All other software that I regularly use are working fine including TV and DVD software. I'm running WinXP SP1. Anyone else have this problem? Cheers Lester |

I'm using 6.13.10.6193efg and it works fine... That's not quite Cata 2.4 (cata 2.4 is 6.13.10.6200C) but it's a beta version that fixed a problem with NOLF 2 that I had... I'll try 2.4 (thanks for mentioning it was out BTW) and see what happens for me, I have an 8500 too (non-AIW), also running XP SP1.
I don't watch commercials.

I haven't forgotten... I just also haven't gotten home before 1:00 AM for the past couple nights... I'll make sure I post what I find tomorrow...

Solved!
I have a monitor that supports 800x600 but incorrectly reports to Windows that it only supports 640x480 (via DDC). (This monitor is hooked up to my pc in the living room and acts as my Home Theatre PC, hence the low resolution numbers). Previously I had overidden the 640x480 limitation by unchecking 'Hide modes monitor cannot display' in the Display Settings. Apparently some software programs, including the Aquarium do not like that method. What I have done instead now is chosen another monitor model in Windows which does support 800x600 and everything seems to work now. Cheers Lester |

Glad you got it figured out on your own... I finally got around to installing the 2.4 drivers and the only differance is a couple fps loss...
