The "DirectX Diagnostic Tool" shows that
all the directx files were updated with the newer versions.
I always run chkdsk/f every few months and chkdsk/r one or twice every year. Maybe if you ran chkdsk/r it would fix one of those unknown/odd problems and DirectX would then install correctly, it couldn't hurt! (I hope
