Because the customer database prior to March 2001 exists on the credit card handler's website instead of at SereneScreen/Prolific.
It is VERY unfortunate and SereneScreen shares your frustration that long-time Aquarium customers sometimes receive slower support (24 hours instead of sooner) because of this.
