Nothing helped! The first link to the DirectX uninstaller didn't work. The other one links to an uninstaller that doesnot support DX8.1 on WinXP yet (I will try gong there again when it updates).
NVmax has a screen resolution menu but it reports my current screen resolution (85Hz) and not the DX resolution 75Hz.
Please keep new ideas coming.
