Jim said 3.0 equals about 24" deep, but I didn't ask him about what the length would equate too. I would guess maybe 6 - 8 feet. Most of the problem with eels is peoples preconcieved notions. A 3 foot eel sounds huge in a 6 foot tank. But when you consider that they almost never stretch out the full length, that changes things. The biggest concern about them is the total water volume and some hiding space. Overall floor size is second on the list, although hex tanks and the like are not recommended. But thats not the concern in 3.0.

My concern for Jim no matter if its the Zebra I want or any other, is going to be the collision routines for it. As in the videos above they are generally curled in, around, or through existing coral. They like tight spaces to slither between, so that in my guess would be the most difficult part from Jim's perspective. Followed by mimicing the actual movement.

Or maybe vice-versa.
