I usually force the program to be on top in windowed mode and leave it small and in the corner when I am working. And when I leave my desk I just click X to close it down so that it will activate as a screensaver.

But I have now been using it full screen windowed mode. If you make your taskbar "autohide" you don’t need that big bar on the left-hand side of you're screen. You just drop your cursor to the bottom of the screen and it reappears.

Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
