I reccon the problem lies within Windows that it somehow sends the WM_CLOSE message twice or such...

(Maybe a solution could be, trapping the WM_CLOSE message and wait X milliseconds for another one to appear. And then close either way. Unless the waiting is several seconds I doubt the average user will notice any difference).
