Is this the only 3D program you're having issues with? Perhaps your daughter has a (3D) game which works (or doesn't)?
Try this:
- Click on the "Start" button and choose "Run...".
- Type "dxdiag" (without the quotes) in the box that pops up and press Enter.
- Choose the "Monitor" tab and verify that both "DirectDraw acceleration" and "Direct3D acceleration" is activated.
- Click on the "Test DirectDraw" button and see if it checks out.
- Do the same with the "Test Direct3D" button.
- Under "Drivers" (still on the "Monitor" tab) check what version of the drivers you're using.
- Report back here and we'll sort things out and/or come up with new suggestions of things to do.
