It's all a matter of programming and the assumptions made by the people who write the software. Dealing with a multiple monitor environment (possibly driven by multiple video cards of differing capabilities) isn't that hard on the Mac, but it does require some thought and effort, especially if you are trying to "push the envelope" according to the capabilities of the video card(s).

My current pet peeve for Windows games is the requirement (by some games) that you be logged on as Administrator to play the game (e.g., Sims 2). Especially since it's my kids who are playing the game and thus have to be allowed to log-in as Administrator to play. The "simplifying assumption" of a single-user environment by the game programmers is quite a concern.
