You can download, install and TEST without buying.
/Librariy/Screen Savers/ has nothing in it on my 10.2.8 volume except for the screen effects I've loaded, so not having anything in there is not an issue. There must be something else wrong with your system. Perhaps an ownership or permissions problem on your Screen Savers folder?
