To 'undo' it, simply close the terminal window. If you don't want to mess with terminal, there are other options now...
I have discovered a couple of shareware utilities that implement this action. One is Visage, a shareware app, and the other is xBack.
A few freeware apps exists: Desktop Effects, DeskEffects 1.5.4 , CoolBackground, BackLight 1.5.0 , Background Screen Saver 0.5.
